Tumeric Hot Chocolate

What do you make for the sick kid who doesn’t want to eat anything? Hot chocolate! This is an easy, whole food hot chocolate that can be enjoyed in good or poor health and for all ages!

Sure, hot tea with lemon and local honey is probably the best drink for a cold, but trying to get my toddler who only drinks milk and plain water to down that would be a challenge. But as she’s been fighting a cold this week and hasn’t wanted much to eat or drink, I wanted to get something nourishing in her.

This whipped together quickly! Just a couple minutes on the stove and a few seconds whisking and it was done. It has raw milk (obviously), cocoa powder, turmeric, cinnamon, and local honey in it! You could add in vanilla and collagen protein powder in if desired. If only heated up to 110-120 degrees for a short period of time, the milk should retain all of it’s raw properties. The turmeric helps with inflammation, and honey can soothe the ache and help with coughs.

Adding a little whipped cream or homemade marshmallows can make this an extra special treat for kids of all ages!
