Homemade Baileys

Creamy, quality ingredients, boozy. What’s not to love?

I’m not much of a drinker, but there’s two times I tend to want to indulge: summer parties and Christmastime. To me, the cozy weather and gathering of friends makes a holiday drink more enjoyable. While I do think alcohol is objectively harmful to heath, on occasion in community, it’s great for bonding and memories!

This is SIMPLE! And so good! You’ll never buy store bought again. You can make mudslides with it or chocolate martini or any other drink that calls for Baileys! Or just drink it as is! I’m a big coffee drinker at parties so it would make a great boozy creamer too!

And don’t sleep on giving this as gifts too! (Act surprised, family.) To me, there’s nothing like a homemade gift. Not only did someone think about you, but they put in effort and love into making something! Share the love with your cocktail loving friends and family!

Homemade Baileys

Ingredients:

  • 14 ounce can of sweetened condensed milk or 1 3/4 cup of my homemade recipe for sweetened condensed milk

  • 1 cup cream

  • 1 cup whiskey (Irish whiskey is traditional, but I just used what I had which was Traverse City Whiskey Co.)

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla (measure with your heart if you want)

  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

Instructions:

Place all the ingredients in a blender and pulse a few times until well mixed. Don’t over blend or the cream will make it too frothy, and it won’t fit into your jar. Pour the Bailey’s into a quart mason jar. Place a lid on it and store in the fridge. Enjoy!
